My Favourite Piece of Technology

Image
I hope you're all doing great! Today we're going to write about our favourite piece of technology. You must say: What it is. When you got it. How you use it. How often you use it. Why you like it. What life would be like without it. - 140 words minimum. - Include a picture.  - Comment on your teacher's post and 3 of your classmates’ blogs. ______________________________________________________________________________ Here is my post: I'm not a big fan of technology, but of course I can't live without it.  I am very dependant on the microwave, I spend most of my time working on my computer, and I can’t live without my cell phone. But when I really think about it, my favourite piece of technology is the Kobo e-reader. Kobo is a brand of an electronic book reader, just like Kindle, and I got it as a birthday gift about 6 years ago from my sister. You can download e-books from the internet, either on EPUB or PDF formats at a much...

My Career Choice

Image
Post 2 (week 4) Hello everyone! For today's blog post, we're going to answer the following question:  Why did you choose this career or study programme? You must write about: - your dream jobs when you were a child - other career options that you had at the moment of applying to university - what made you decide in the end - your experience at university until now - the kind of job you would like to have - Write a minimum of 130 words  -Don't forget to leave comments on 3 of your classmates' posts and on your teacher's post as well. As an example, you can read my post here: Since I was a child, I always wanted to be an artist. I dreamed of being an ice skater and going to the Olympics. I also thought of becoming a film director, but I thought that to produce a film you need too many resources. For some time, I considered becoming a ballet dancer, but I thought I would never want to be on a diet. In the end, I decided to...

My Autobiography

Image
Hi everyone! Welcome to the English blog! In our first blog session, you have to write a short autobiography. Here is an example of my autobiography: I was born in Santiago, Chile, and I'm the oldest of three sisters. My father was born in Santiago, but my mother is from a small town in Belgium.  Since I was a very young child, I wanted to be an artist. I learned how to draw by myself. I graduated from the Santiago College school, and studied Visual Arts in Universidad Finis Terrae, where I learned how to paint, draw, make sculptures and printing techniques. Then, in 2006 I obtained my Teaching Degree in Universidad Católica.  After I graduated, I worked in different jobs. I did English-Spanish translations for a long time and taught Art and English lessons in two schools, Nuestra Señora de Andacollo and Nuestra Señora del Pilar. In 2007, I started teaching English to adults in an institute in Santiago, called BridgeEnglish.  Today, I continue to...
